It’s worth a thousand words. The original T CPU was not compatible with Windows 7 64bit operation k1210 so I purchased a used CPU T from e-bay then installed it myself using the below manual and new thermal grease.

Just to let j1210 know about a cool test Windowx went through. The webcam was working fine until I did the re-install. Also, I’ve used the OEM windows cd that came with the laptop. Searching for Windows 7 m trackpad brought me here and I just wanted to let people know they can download the newest Synaptic x64 driver for their touchpad here: My webcam is still hot also in idle mode I had this problem in linux, but never in windows.

I currently have Vista on my machine I guess a lot of guys have the same. Try installing this driver for the camera Then install this driver for the camera software You’ll click the download button on each page, then choose Download through your Browser.
If you have the time maybe you could try a fresh install then install quick cam first. After much trying to find a usable driver at the synaptics website without success, this driver link solved the scrolling problem.
I then went to the device manager and double click the unknown device, driver tab, then update driver button. Can anyone please help.
Still, there is something I am thinking about after reading all the posts… although the Win7 Upgrade Advisor says that 2 gigs RAM are enough for Win7 x64 I am not convinced that it is really sufficient to work smoothly, especially when working with Photoshop etc.
